From 1961 to 1965, Venezuelan State experimented on Caribbean pine plantations in Cachipo, North Monagas, with the goal of determining the feasibility of forestial exploitation of the Southern plains of Anzoátegui and Monagas States, 672 kilometers Southeast from Caracas.
In 1969 Corporación Venezolana de Guayana begins a Forest Development Program in Uverito –South Monagas-, seeking to relieve the pressure on the natural forests, and to reduce the dependence of imported raw material.
As a consequence of the success reached, in 1972 the second plantation in the plain is done under responsibility of the organ at that time called Agriculture and Livestock Ministry. In August 1975, after the creation of the National Reforestation Company, this organ assumed the responsibility on the plantations and continued the expansion of the forests in Coloradito, Centella and Mesa de los Hachos -South Anzoátegui- in 1979.
After a decision of the National Government, in February 1988, CVG East Forest Products Stock Company (CVG Proforca) is founded with Corporación Venezolana de Guayana and Conare as actionists (85% and 15% respectively).
